Episode 128 - Peeling Back the Layers of Suffering with Jules Xenakis

by Karin Lewis, MA, LMFT, CEDS

This week, Karin welcomes Jules Xenakis, transformational recovery coach for Being True To You, to the show for our newest episode, “Peeling Back the Layers of Suffering.”

Tune in to learn about how suffering can be a launch pad for personal growth, finding meaning in suffering, pressures to “grow up” in a competitive environment, allowing space and time to process difficult emotions, the use of psychedelics for healing and creating new neuropathways, and the importance of trust between clients and treatment providers.

Jules Xenakis is the Director of Partnerships and a transformational recovery coach for Being True To You, a coaching company that provides coaching services for addiction recovery and psychedelic preparation and integration, as well as an in-depth Coach Training Program, group coaching, family recovery programs, and other related services.

Jules is a transformational coach who works primarily with teenagers and young adults who have previously been diagnosed with things such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, eating disorders, self-harm, suicidal ideation, and substance use, all of which were components of her own healing journey. Drawing on her own experience of eating disorder recovery, which she struggled with for ten years before she was able to gain food freedom and learn to love herself, has proven an asset in her current work.

In her work as a coach, Jules’ mission is to help people transform out of the addictive attachments keeping them tethered to suffering in this human experience. Jules holds the belief our suffering can teach us valuable lessons about the things that truly matter in life. It can show us the path to connecting with our authentic selves, and help us overcome the obstacles necessary to achieve peace, joy, and true presence each day.

Jules holds the belief that our suffering can teach us valuable lessons about the things that truly matter in life. It can show us the path to connect with our authentic selves, examine all the uncomfortable parts that we have been taught to shun, and help overcome the obstacles necessary to reach vitality and longevity. This allows an opportunity to look within and commit ourselves to transform our circumstances.
